You see this kind of thinking a lot in the bullet journal community too. One Must Have this particular kind of Moleskine or Leuchtturm 1917 notebook. Which is great if that's what you want, but is actually not necessary at all.

Oh how funny - I shouldn't be surprised to hear it though; Moleskine et al. do such a good job of building up brand mystique, and (from what I've seen of the community - so much cute calligraphy and doodling!) there are also those exceptionally talented journalers who make such-and-such journals look gooood.
