I never knew job hunting could fill me with such relentless, cold panic. Sometimes I wish I was a high school student again, naively satisfied with getting straight A's and believing everything will be O.K so long as I had a good academic record

actually I disagree with the commenter above- really a lot people feel the same re. if only someone else could dictate the course of life etc.- I find it is in those moments rather than worrying about the bigger picture focus on the smaller, instinctal decisions that feel right and things will slot into place one way or another. If Japan is where you feel you are headed at the moment at least keep asking around you still have 3 months and I assume a whole bunch of contacts you could ask...
