I don't know if Howl and Sophie are my favorite DWJ couple either (THOUGH I LOVE THEM, obviously), but they are emphatically the most . . . couple-y couple, I think. Most of the DWJ books have the romance very much round the edges; Howl's Moving Castle is really the only one where it's front and center and and you're not constantly being distracted by OH LOOK CENTAURS and WHAT THE HELL DRAGONS.

(Then again I don't know what my favorite would be if it isn't Howl and Sophie. I can't say there's any that I love more! Only the ones that I love equally well. :O)

I think this is true! Mind you, I am totally cool with being distracted by WHAT THE HELL DRAGONS.

(It's possible that I do actually love Vierann and Mordion more, but I cannot be entirely certain that that is true and not my Hexwood love speaking. I can say though, that there are others I love equally well, such as Christopher and Sophie.)

And unrelated (...except in that I definitely ship Alice/Randel now), BECCA WHY ARE THERE NO SCANSLATIONS OF PUMPKIN SCISSORS PAST CHAPTER 13 AND WHY DO NO LIBRARIES AROUND HERE CARRY VOLUME 5. I might have to actually buy it just for the end of the Trick in Treat arc!

...also I am 29 chapters into Skip Beat!

Oh, me too absolutely. I LOVE DWJ'S CRACKED-OUT PLOTS.

(IMPOSSIBLE CHOICES. Mordion and Vierran! Christopher and Millie (which I assume is what you meant, although the picture of Howl and Sophie's faces if Chrestomanci swept in and tried to pick up Sophie IS HILARIOUS.) Rupert and Maree! The tragedies that are Mitt and Maewen and Jamie and Helen!)

. . . ack I misled you as to numbering! I thought the Trick in Treat arc ended with 12 but I guess I miscounted. *sheepish* I AM SORRY. ALSO: I DON'T KNOW WHY except that the world fails.

(and hahahaha Orly the part where Alice's sleazy fiance is like "why . . . are your eyes a foot above my head . . ." and she's like "oh, I'm just thinking of my awesome tall subordinate :D!" without even hesitating. I LAUGHED FOREVER. And the part where Randel is all "WHAT WOULD THE LIEUTENANT DO" and Oland is like "DUDE. You can do things that are not what the lieutenant would do!" and Randel is like ". . but . . . why would I . . .")

- this is ALSO exciting news for me. >:D Is not Kyoko

THEY ARE THE BEST.

(SO IMPOSSIBLE. And yes, I do not know how I mixed those up, possibly it is a desire to see what Sophie would do to Christopher's dressing gowns. AND JAMIE AND HELEN. ;_;)

WELL I HAVE READ MORE PUMPKIN SCISSORS SO I CANNOT SAY I REGRET IT OR BLAME YOU. I love Alice so much! I liked her before this arc, but now I seriously love her. Though it must be stated for the record: I would take Lionel more seriously if he did not have a mullet.

(haha, yes! They are simultaneously incredibly dependent on each other and adorably oblivious. IT IS ENDEARING AND HEARTBREAKING, which I am noticing is a mix that happens in this series.)

KYOKO IS FABULOUS and Kanae is fabulous and Maria is fabulous and ACTING is fabulous and it is now 30 chapters not 29.
