As many of you know, one of my very favorite movies is Carol Reed's The Third Man. In fact, in terms of my sheer love for it, it is second only to Casablanca (though Blade Runner comes terribly close). Nice wee review! It came up as I was searching for the song quoted throughout OMIH - "They say the world is round / My madness offends..." Any clues?
Also, I'm interested to know which character you felt was "outright stat[ing] some of the themes"?
If you liked this and The Third Man, try The Quiet American. There's a (surprisingly) good film adaptation from 2000 starring Michael Caine and Brendan Fraser, the latter especially surprising in a "straight" role! The script is remarkably faithful to the novel.
Everyone needs more Graham Greene in their lives!
