Welcome new people! ♥

I...had a bunch of things to blather on about, from dance to anime recommendations (those will come in the near future). But Russian homework has killed a surprising amount of brain. Also that Chinese Culture midterm I have tomorrow. And needing food probably doesn't help.

Anyway, let us celebrate movies instead! With a meme ( Read more... )

8. Nope! I do adore Memento, though.
11. You know I hadn't realized how much I made that sound like Mulan.
16. Much older and more obscure! ...I actually doubt anyone will get that one. >.>

I'm debating giving you an honorable mention.

Careful, you say that and you're going to be subjected to more movies.

I think I shall!

Alright, I'll try...

03. Ahem. "Casablanca".

15. "Spy Game".

16. Um... "Farewell, My Lovely"?

20. Not sure about this one, either. Mmm...nope, I can't think of the title. An older film. *sigh* Fine...*checks* Oh! Got it...had to cheat...I wonder if anyone will guess it.

03. Thank you. ♥ I was so worried because no one was getting this!

15. Yes! You know it?

16. Correct title for the book, but the movie got retitled. Know what it is~?

20. I'm hoping that the person I had watch it will guess, ha.

YOU HAVE EXCELLENT TASTE IN MOVIES, CLEARLY.

I know my English plurals, really.

Re: 15, yes, I know...of it...I still need to watch it. :/

Re: 16, Oh, um..."Murder, My Sweet".

But the UK version was still titled "Farewell, My Lovely", wasn't it? I never did understand the need to retitle things for American audiences. I guess I'm sort of a purist. I refuse to watch dubbed anime, too, and not just because American voice actors are terrible and never take it seriously. *lol*

Re: 15, I'm not going to lie, in a few ways it's pretty awful. But in other ways it so amazingly awesome and completely fun that I find I must not only forgive its flaws, but love the thing.

Re: 16, you are correct!

As I recall, there was a popular play called "Farewell My Lovely" that someone was either thinking about or actually making a movie of at the time, so the retitling was actually to avoid confusion (the play was a romance or something, I think).
Ugh, I can't watch dubbed anime. They always seem to get at least one thing terribly wrong.
