You and your freakin' cliffhangers!!!

I loved the OCs you added here, they enriched the chapter. At long last, Gwen and Arthur reunite! You better not wait too long for the next chapter! And that is not a threat but a promise, LOL.

lol, but no really, this chapter was bordering on 9,000 words +. I wasn't even certain it would all fit.

I liked creating Sarya etc, so I'm glad they worked.

I'll try not to wait too long for the next one. Thanks for your feedback and er...promise! :)

Lovely, wonderful, epic update Mara! I really enjoyed the flash blacks of Arthur and Gwen meeting up with Sayra and I just loved seeing the caring and protective side of Arthur in saving her.

and the ending! I can't wait for the next part.

I also love that you changed what happened with 4x12 and separating Arthur from Merlin and his knights.

Sarya evolved into much more than I orginally planned, but I like where that storyline went so glad people are enjoying it.

I understand the show's direction because it is called 'Merlin', but I think AG fans were robbed a little at least, so I wanted to go with a more AG perspective in this.

Thanks so much for your feedback, I'll try to update soon!

I'm really glad that Sarya is in it more that your planned. I think she's a great character to have in the story. It's great that there are some commoner people in the story because on the show we don't really see many of them interact much with the main characters.

I think so too. I hear people complain about A/G kissing and it being pointless and taking away from the story and it annoys me because compared to A/M, we A/G fans don't get much and yet they still complain. We got scenes of A/M having pippy back rides where good Arthur and Gwen scenes were cut. Sorry but I'm just annoyed because while I know this show is called Merlin, A/G relationship is an important part of the show.

I can't wait to read the next part!

I just imagine there are so many possible background stories for Gwen, people she maybe knows about that Arthur and some of the others don't, or didn't at first. It's fun to speculate on it, create characters like Sarya etc.

I don't see what can be pointless about A/G when even the dragon made a big point of true love being so powerful when Arthur was under the love spell and Gwen was the only one who could lift it from him. I love the A/M friendship, but some of those 'chambers' scenes this season were just silly. There needs to be some balance. I completely agree with that. Especially now that A/G are married.

Well that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. And I may have let out a little yell when I got to the end. :)

I love the idea of Arthur being separated from the knights and Merlin for a time. One of the things I don't particularly like on the show is that Merlin is always with Arthur and we can't see Arthur doing his thing, figuring things out on his own, coming into his own and being his own man and king (that's a lot of own's). Nice to see it here.

And now you have me worried about Sarya. Hopefully she gets to Ealdor safely.

Another amazing chapter. :)

Yay, that's what it was meant to do though Gwaine/Percival were in there to lighten things up a little bit.

I just didn't like on the show especially the 'simpleton' storyline, not for the first part of the finale. I thought it cheapened Arthur in a storyline where it could have been more about the emotional value of his leaving his land to Morgana. I get that the show is called 'Merlin' and usually focused on him leading Arthur etc, but agreed. I would like to see Arthur's direction focused on more sans Merlin sometimes.

Thank you so much for commenting!

I love it. You had me on the edge of my seat throughout this read. And you are absolutely right I could not see Arthur abandoning Camelot under seige unless he was helping a young child.

I liked the fact that you went off script seperating him from Merlin and the Knights. I really disliked the village idiot storyline they did with him on the show. Therefore I really enjoyed what you've done. I like Merlin, but all too often he's written to save Arthur before Arthur has a chance to show what he can do. Arthur is a fierce warrior and should be presented as such, which of course you've done in this story.

I hope Percival and Gwaine find a way out of Camelot without getting caught.

I can't believe Gwen saved Arthur. Thank goodness, but how did she get there? Why is she so close to Camelot? Was she kind of on standby in the nearby woods, waiting for the crap to hit the fan so that she could help?

I'm excited to see what happens next! Great update!

Another person on edge. Not bad then, lol. Honestly, writing this was like a thrill ride. Keeping up the momentum was one of the biggest challenges, but one that I enjoyed.

Yeah, I could have taken the idiot storyline during another episode, but as part of fleeing Camelot it just felt like an awful waste of time. It made both Arthur and Merlin's chracter look pretty silly I thik during a time when the kingdom was in peril. So I agree with you. I want to see more of the 'fierce warrior' on the show sometimes.

There will be more Percival and Gwaine. Percival actually was my favorite knight this season and Gwaine was one of them last.

Great questions about Gwen. Ones that will be answered in the next part.

Thanks so much!
