After a huge amount of the usual internet crap, one of the saner female contributors produced the great line, with regards to metrosexuals: "But on the whole, I think the vast majority of women over the age of 15 would probably rather get banged by Aragorn than by Legolas."

Actually LOL. In the old meaning of the word.

LOL generally gets used as emotional punctuation, the way ":-)" once was. It indicates humor in the text. Generally used at the end of a sentence rather than as an out right statement.

Probably for the best that some of the other acronyms fell into disuse, though.

I'm over the age of 15 and I'd much rather have Legolas as long as he knew what he was doing. :)
