Um yeah - got the LJ email like everyone else... big woo. Although did make me a tiny bit glad I never bit the bullet on a lifetime account. I realize as a business they want to maximize profits and this is where "social media" is going - and that is a stupid ass term - but I'm not helping it monetarily in its march to the Dark Side

You know, I hadn't realize there was any drama until you posted. LOL. Not that I haven't been checking Livejournal, it's just... no one I knew was really even bothered by it. I'm not either. I mean, it's actually a nice idea for those people who want to participate in that service. A lot of people are on it. I don't think we can really consider it "The Dark Side" if we all have accounts on those places as well. We're all part of the reason that this is currently trending. I just like the idea that they are giving us a chance to opt-in if we want (I don't) rather than forcing us to opt-out the way that many other social networking sites are doing. Unfortunately, LJ is trying to stay relevant in today's society. I suspect that even if they operated as a non-profit, they'd be forced to do the same thing.

Hullo!

I was going to reply to you anyway to say I'm not leaving, but you very much said what I fee:

my LJ world has shrunk considerably. Times change, people grow closer or move on, fandoms implode, explode, implode, fracture, and explode again. Rinse and repeat.

But I found people that got me through dark times and light times and all the time in-between. And those I do not give up easily.

Wordy McWord, etc. I still read my flist even if I hardly post much these days.

Also, I really really wanna come to Nawlins after seeing something on tv the other day about Katrina @ Five type thing. Sounds weird maybe, but I want to come and spend tourist dollars and hang with awesome people. Of course, I have no tourist dollars to spend...
