This is really lovely and touching and yet I laughed a couple of times, too. Roy's attempts to deal with his grief with the clock, his staff's concern for him, and his conversation with Hughes were all very real to me.

This is a beautiful fic. It was funny and rolicking through most of it,and then it wound up in a beautifully sweet and sad denouement.

This 'fic was a good mixture of happiness and sadness, comedy and tragedy--as life itself often is. I enjoyed all the little details you put in, from Roy counting the seconds ticking by on the clock to the incident with the street lamp to the boys' adventures and antics in their school years. As Elricmas 'fics go, it felt very complete and whole; a situation and a fitting resolution. Nicely done!
