Ed bends over to slip the envelope under the door of the apartment, giving the door a couple of raps before making his way back down the hall.

Black Hayate's barking caught Riza's attention, and she knew it had to be a resident since whoever it was, was at the apartment door rather then main entrance outside. She saw the envelope appear as she approached, and bent down to pick it up before opening the door.

The red pepper and sharp scent startled her, and she pulled out the paper, careful to not drop the money inside, and looked up. "Edward, hello," she said, glancing down to skim over the note.

"...you're heading back?" A small, concerned frown. "Is everything all right?"

Ed hesitated a moment before deciding that talking about what had been going on in his life lately to one Riza was going to be difficult enough without talking about it to two.

"...I think so. I... it's been too long since I was home. I should have gone back for a visit at least a month ago." He scrubbed at his face with one of his hands a bit.

"And not just because I miss my Riza," he added quietly.

She nodded, still frowning a bit. "When should we expect you back? You know, in case you run into trouble and could use a hand or two."

"Well, like the note said, I'm figuring on it taking about three or four hours." Ed paused.

"Of course, with the time weirdness between here and there, I'm not actually sure how much time will end up going by here. That's kind of a side reason for going. Figuring how fast or slow it moves in relation to both here and there so as to better figure out--augh. Never mind. Got side-tracked." Ed shook his head at himself.

"Although now that I think about it, considering that my visits to the Nexus generally took hours here and only a few minutes would have gone by back there, maybe an extra half-hour to an hour should be tacked on. Just in case."
