Who the hell has polio anymore?

I was at work today and there was this kid there, I think he was about 13 or so, and his mom was looking for him shoes. While she's talking to me, he all of sudden is like "I have polio". What am I supposed to say to that? I was like "really." I think I should have said something like "don't you know it's bad luck to let crippled people in a place
