distribute placebos, my friend. I'm celebrating the announcement that WA finally has some cases of it. I thought we were going to be last in line or something. I feel for the health care professionals for what they have to go through to coddle and educate a non-thinking public, but I'm laughing like hell about those who are panicked and spending time and money and freaking out. Wise to stay informed, but stupid to panic. Hell, flu is flu. It's going to kill the young, the old, and the compromised. And the rest of us will recover. My friend told me today that she canceled her trip to Cancun. I think by the 18th (a little over 2 weeks away), this will have blown over. The people down there should be dead or recovering from it by then. I'm sure you'll be fine.

How I'm handling the imminent epidemic

I am enjoying slices of prosciutto from a not-very-tightly-sealed styrofoam box in my fridge. I'm sharing it with my dogs. One of them wouldn't come in the house yesterday when I had to leave, so I opened up the box of potential flu virus and took both our lives in my grubby little hands and ingested certain doom. It was a little dry but damned tasty. I'm gonna do it again pretty soon here.
