We ended up with about 4 inches, but it's up to 40 today so it's pretty much heavy slush now. Tomorrow it gets really cold and I'm finding all sorts of excuses not to go out for a few days :)
That is a beautiful photo! (And a little bit eerie to my eye - but maybe I'm in an eerie mood!)
No snow, partly sunny today and mostly sunny yesterday, but it touched 32F for a few hours last night and my plants were considering a protest. It's not forecast to do that for the next week, so that's good. (I know I'm lucky.)
I think the light when it snows is always a bit eerie. It's gray, but the white snow makes everything bright. I blew up a portion of a bigger picture so that it's easy to the the flakes :)
You must go below freezing for some of the winter nights surely?
I owe you a note--I've been lacking the energy to do much for a few weeks, but am now determined to roust myself out and DO things...
It does, but not very much below and not very often. I'm frequently away for a few weeks around the holidays, so I may be missing some of them. I certainly miss most of the darkest days that way and that is definitely OK by me! Still, I thought I'd see if I could find some statistics on the matter and I found a website called weather online and it stated that between January 2000 and December 2008 (unusual span there) the average number of days per year when the low was below freezing in London was 20.6. Same site stated that the number of days when the high was below freezing was zero
