Every year I think, "maybe this year I should do Yuletide!" and every year my flist starts posting about being finished their stories when I feel like they were just posting about assignments and I think "oh thank God I didn't."

It is a short window, that's true and grows shorter every year. I find it works best with a fandom you have some idea what you want to do with and I've just lucked out with prompts that encourage me to do just that.

Hectic time of year for writing, though! I hope you have wonderful holidays. :-)

Yuletide always confuses me with its nomination and submission processes that seem way overly complicated! I do like reading through the results though!

I love Yuletide even if the time of year is about the worst ever for me (my work schedule is always busiest from November 15-December 25). The nice part is that you are only on the hook for 1000 words so the stories tend toward the non-epic sort!
