fingers and toes crossed

Dear flist,

If you are not busy cheering for Team USA in tomorow's men's hockey final, could you spare a thought and a hope for Team Canada? This is a nation-defining moment for us. We'd really like to win.

Also, I will be downtown watching and I really don't want a riot.

Oddly, here the riots happen when we WIN. I think the Canadian system of sports-related rioting is far more sensible. ;)

I kind of assume there will be rioting either way, but at least if we win it will be tolerable.

Hmmm.. I actually think Canada will win. And I for one will cheer for Team Canada. And not only because Team Finland managed to play their worst game ever against Team USA.. :S (I'm happy, we took bronze!)

Oh god. Where are you planning on going? My friend wants to go downtown but it makes me rather nervous.

I am crossing my fingers and toes that Canada will win.

There is so much pressure on the Canadian team, and basically, no real pressure on the US...we need to play like we did against the Russians.

GO Canada GO!
