1. I think my heart is breaking a little bit. I need to stop watching weepy dramas at 2am because it would not be nice not to be crying for half an hour straight at 3.30 in the morning.

I've never seen Bridges, but I've always kind of wanted to, even though I poke fun at other people who've seen it and cried, and even though it's become this big cultural stamp for "girly emotion stuff" ("dude, don't go all Bridges of Madison County on me") but, deep down, I think I really must want to see it because there is a part of me that just clenches up at the thought of a really, really good love story.

SO. Even though I'm not a HUGE Meryl fan, or a fan of "girly emotions" in general -- should I see it?

Omigod, I would totally poke fun at myself for weeping at Bridges too. Because it really is one of THOSE huge girly, weepy movies that's just always looked upon as sort of a guilty pleasure, you know? The movie definitely isn't perfect - parts of it are cringingily cheesy (almost all involving the characters NOT played by Meryl or Clint, you'll know the ones I mean if you watch it).

But I'd have to say it's actually really worth it (if you can see through the tears) to watch Meryl and Clint play their roles. Doesn't matter if you're not a big fan of either, they're both excellent (she more so, and I'm not being biased; her character is better fleshed out). They make you want to buy the love story - which, by the way, is SO MANIPULATIVE (as these sorts of stories/movies invariably are), but if you just let it wash over you and once you get into it, I think you'd be pretty much sunk.

So I'd recommend it, I guess, with a word of caution that I DO enjoy the weepy catharsis one gets at movies like this.

You know. I think your sleeping is okay because.. well. In last two days I have only slept 1,5 hours.. SO. Yeah.

I'm Moowa from SS and I have quite of bunch icons you have made on me lj account as you can see. :D

Bridges is brilliant. Personally I haven't see it for several months because I only got it in vhs (original vhs, yeah that's like released 1995! so it's OLD!) and I can't watch vhs's anymore at home. :(

You slept 1.5 hours in the last two days?! WTF and why?! D:

Hi Moowa! :D Yay for snagging icons!

And OMG BRIDGES. Seriously. It's so. AMAZING. I can't stop thinking about it, and how brilliant Meryl is in it. She tears my heart up, she really does. I'm thinking that you DEFINITELY need to buy the DVD for this one... ;)

Yeah. In 3 days I did slep something like 7 hours if I were lucky. And I did that little because I wasn't feeling sleepy or tired at all. After hours and hours of being awake I just find out that my body was SHAKING because it was so tired and I did feel really cold, but I wasn't feeling any need for sleep.. It's crazy. Tip: Don't try this at home! Haha.

I btw LOOOOOVE your icons, they're amazing. *---* ♥

Yeah, I guess 'I have to' buy the DVD for Bridges.. haha. :D

Errr... okay. O_O I'm usually awake even though my body WANTS me to sleep because I'm too busy making icons or flailing over stuff. YOU SHOULD SLEEP MORE, PLEASE!!

Thank you, I'm glad you like the icons! It's always great to see other people getting a kick out of them and using them. :D

BUY IT BUY IT EEK.

Hi :)

Just thought i'd drop by to say thank you again for making me that amazing LJ header.
I love it so much, it's briliant, so thanks!

ooo, you've been watching Bridges. I was so tempted to read your thoughts on that, but i've just ordered it and can't wait to watch it so don't want to be spoiled, just yet.
I have a feeling i'm going to end up crying though - ah, why do we watch these things?!? lol

Hey there! :D And thanks for dropping by! Again, you're most welcome on the new header. :D I had so much fun and as I said, I now want to spend more time making a new one for myself! ;)

OH GOD BRIDGES. DON'T read my thoughts on it if you haven't seen it yet. WATCH IT, and then come back here and we can have a discussion. Because ZOMG. If you're already a Meryl fan, I don't know HOW watching this movie could not make you love her MORE. She's incredible.

And you know WHY we watch these things. We watch them for Meryl. :D

You're so right, we watch them for Meryl because she's just brilliant.

I can't wait to get my copy now, and will definitely come back for a chat about it if thats okay? there really aren't enough Meryl fans to share my addiction with ;)

And I have a feeling after reading comments on here that i'm going to end up buying yet another film soundtrack. I'm terrible about that sort of thing, and probably buy far too many, but I can't help it, I love film music :)

I'm on a mission now to watch all of Meryl's movies, and I suspect I'm going to have to start buying some of the rarer ones - like Ironweed - from Amazon. Bah. But I MUST. It's MERYL.

You HAVE to watch Bridges the second it lands in your mailbox. AND THEN COME BACK HERE. DEFINITELY. I asked you to! Because I would love to talk about it too. ♥

Buying the soundtrack would be great. I should do that sometime. But I'm so impatient that I downloaded some of the stuff that's available on SS. Because that forum is the BEST. :D

OH BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY HOW MUCH I LOVE THEE. ::cries:: Meryl is amazing AMAZING in the movie and she should have won a OSCAR that year (but I know we just had too many amazing actresses in that years, so...sigh.)

And if you can, buy/download the soundtracks, they're amazing. ♥

OHMIGOD SO GLAD YOU LIKE THIS MOVIE TOO. Meryl is ten million kinds of ASTOUNDING in this film. She gets so much nuance into every little gesture. She breaks my HEART. I'm biased and think she should win an Oscar EVERY year, but yeah - I think she was in a tough year.

I've downloaded the soundtrack, was listening to it when I wrote this entry. Because it's AMAZING. ♥

I EVEN BOUGHT THE VIDEO TAPE WHEN IT HADN'T HAVE RELEASED DVD BY THAT TIME, LOL. LOVE LOVE THE MOVIE. XD

SO TRUE SO TRUE. She made every scene become alive with emotions, even just her voice, oh God, how much I love her off-screen voice. ::dies::

It had two soundtracks! Just remember to dl another one. ;)

HAHAHA THAT'S DEDICATION. I ONLY WISH MERYL AND CLINT HAD DONE A COMMENTARY FOR THE DVD, ARGH.

Meryl breaks my heart. She freakin' BREAKS MY HEART. When her kids were coming back and she was at the door, wiping her tears away... or just any moment when she was breaking down. ARGH.

There are TWO soundtracks!? What's the second one?? I think I have the basic one...
