I LOVE this post. I used to be desperately obsessed with Wicked back in the day. I've got a shirt, hoodie, mug, magnet, cd, three copies of the book (yeah, that's a story in itself).
Anywho, I thought I'd share my most upsetting day eva'. I went to see Wicked, awesome, right? AND Idina was suppose to be there (Kristin already left). So, I get there and find out Idina was SICK. She even had to stop the previous day's performance of Defying Gravity because she couldn't sing it. Therefore, I CRIED. It was terrible. (And this was after I had a chance to see both Kristin and Idina in the show, but my parents said I couldn't go so my ticket got swiped by someone else AND THEN my parents changed their minds, but it was too late. I cried then, too.)
Therefore, my Wicked experiences were ruined. Although, Shoshana Bean (Idina's fill in) was good, but she was no Idina. Although, I did manage to get a bootleg copy of 'Dina and Kristin in the show. ^.^
Ooh, ANOTHER Wicked fan on the flist! I had no idea you were a Wicked groupie too. Awesome. I want to own all that merchandise now, lol. I have the Grimmerie too. Yet to page through the whole thing, but I ♥ it and am SO glad it's mine.
OH NO about missing Idina twice. WTF!! That is SO bad luck. I'd kill to see either Idina or Kristin do this live, but know I'll never get the chance - to think you came so close on two occasions! *sadface for you* How many times have you seen Wicked?
Me, I loved Kerry Ellis - she was a great first Elphaba. Now I want to go around collecting them, lol. Wish I could've seen Julia Murney as Elphaba too.
Is your bootleg clear?! Colour me jealous. All I can get is what I see on Youtube, and already that pleases me no end. ;)
Yes, I love Wicked. I mean, I've moved on from it, but it's still an amazing musical. Besides, my mom has recently really gotten into it, too.
I've only seen Wicked once live, but with the bootleg, I've seen it more. It's a decent copy, not amazingly clear from what I can recall (I haven't watched it in ages), but it's both Kristin and Idina, so it makes up for it. There's a moment when the camera goes out, but that's during a dance break, so it's not that bad at all. I'll have to see if I can put it on my Mac when I go home for break.
I've only ever seen Shoshana. I still prefer Idina because she belts those notes out and Shoshana didn't. But, you can't blame the girl, some people can't belt those kinds of notes. She was still good anyway.

LOL, YOU'RE WELCOME! I did this as much for myself as for you, because the amount of flail I can exude over any one of these shows/people (Wicked, Idina, Kristin) is insane. Putting them together? I'm happy to sit at my computer for HOURS. As is obvious since I can't seem to tear myself away and keep adding new Kristin videos to the spam! BAH.

My computer or connection doesn't agree with me tonight, the videos are loading extremely slowly and they're very shaky. Fucking annoying. Y'know what, I'll give it another try tomorrow. Sorry. Am downloading the soundtrack though, as we speak. My flailing will follow (and it will, because the little I heard? I really liked that.), for now I'll go to bed and fight that cold.

oh WOW that was long. I didn't want to spoil anything for me though, but my friend Leah LOVES Wicked and so I PMed her on this Reba message board (lol I love it, I met her on there and found out she lives 20 minutes from me so we're more like RL friends now) and I'm like "OKAY I WANT TO SEE WICKED. LET'S GO SOMETIME IN FEBRUARY" and she was game. Lucky bitch went to go see it on her 16th birthday and wound up running into Reba and like hanging out with her for like 10 minutes. Yeah, imagine my shock of her calling me, her first words being, "Promise you won't love me any less, but I kinda hung out with Reba last night." Yeah. And get this. I changed my number a few days before, and had yet to give it to her. She said she called to let me talk to Reba, but she had my old number.
LOL, I DID warn you guys that the flail would get spectacularly scary. ;) OMG NO SPOILAGE, BUT COME BACK HERE AND FLAIL AFTER YOU'VE SEEN IT? I'm so excited that you'll be seeing it in February. :) It's awesome!

I must watch these vids at some point, because I saw Wicked and love it, but obviously, it wasn't I/K. Even though for Glinda, anyway, I totally picked up on a KC vibe from the actress. (I'd seen KC in other stuff, but not IM)
Wa ha ha, I hid my obsession so well, didn't I? And yes, please to be watching these videos with the OBC. They're love! ♥ Cheno's had an indelible mark on all the Glindas to follow, I think. You just can't help but be a little Cheno in that role; it was written for her after all!!
