In pretty much no order whatsoever

1. Had a good time at the Prop 8 protest. I hope that other f-listers who attended ones in their towns did, as well-and thank you to everybody who did, or who blogged about it. So very many signs: "Our Son Deserves His Big Gay Wedding"; "My Son's Rights Are Unalienable"; "WE'RE STILL GAY-DO YOU FEEL ANY BETTER?"; "Republicans Against Prop 8"; " ( Read more... )

politicking, random, fandom: big finish, queerness, character: leela

Even if he thought that, though, there's no way the source authors would. There must have been legal-like licensing things happening somewhere. Or so I tell myself.

1. I am so jealous of everyone who protested. Stupid work. *kicks it* Stupid schedules that come out a week in advance.

3. Fanmixing when it works right is one of the best things in the world. I love it so.

4. I'm sure Rusty mutilated the basic idea well enough that he doesn't have to credit anyone.

1. It was a good time, and I hope it was some use, but I suspect that all you do in just generally supporting your mom and living your life and proving "traditional family values" for the myth that it is does far more good. I enjoyed the protest, but left with serious doubts about whether I'd actually accomplished anything. Besides which, I have a feeling there will be a few more demonstrations of this sort before all is said and done.

3. One of the other mods over at ice_and_rage had suggested a comm-wide Valeyard fanmixing project. I am beginning to see the wisdom of her suggestion.

4. That one scene was close enough to some from tOD by itself that, yeah. Guess that come Christmas we'll see. *wants Mel/Sally-Anne for Christmas*

Those posters rock! =D I'm glad you had a good day of it. ...and I just noticed the line about god peeing on you. Sorry. :/

MAKING FANMIXES IS SO ADDICTIVE. I make soundtracks for everything by nature, so...yeah. ADDICTIVE.

I wonder how much of it will be One Doctor-picked when we see the whole thing. Because the others that have been audio/book-adapted have been really good at taking something and building a rather different story of their own around it.

Even if it goes off in a totally different direction, that one snippet by itself is still going to make me uncomfortable. Maybe if it hadn't been broadcast by its lonesome it wouldn't, though. Also of course there could easily have been arrangements with the Big Finish authors, what with my not being aware of things being no barrier to their actually having happened, as I regrettably tend to forget.

I'm jealous you got to protest... all of the places even close to being near to me were still at least two hours away.

Are Gareth Roberts and Clayton Hickman credited for their work, or did they adapt it themselves/otherwise release it (the, ah, version I watched didn't have anything but the clip-such is YouTube)? If not, that's pretty fucked up.

I doubt it. You know Rusty. Although, David Morrissey rocked my socks off.

I'm really hoping the Xmas special is better than VOTD: DESPERATELY hoping.

But yes, seeing DM & DT working together again was fab - wonder if they'll have a musical number :-P

Good job on the Prop 8 protests - I've been reading about and it's excellent this whole thing seems to have re-galvanised everyone about equal rights.

Oh, thanks. I had successfully banished all memory of that from my mind until now. :P

What have they done together before?

Yeah. Hopefully it's taught us that we have to be as organized as the other side. Only without the batshit and insistence of dictating the public morality, preferably.
