Have now listened to Year of the Pig for the seventh time. Still awesome. Actually, I think its awesomeness may be increasing.

Moreover, the lightbulb finally went on last night when I was in the middle of listening #7, and I realized that Peri/Albertine is obviously the greatest ship ever. It's like Peri/Erimem, only much better, because Six ( Read more... )

There is not enough FUCK YES in the entire world to adequately express how hard I agree with your opinions on Year of the Pig.

Every time I listen to that audio I love it more. Every single guest star is brilliant, the script is magically delicious, and Six & Peri have never been more enjoyable together. I will admit I never considered Peri/Albertine before but now I am a believer.

Word, word, word! It's a magically delicious script, just as you say, yet without just the right cast and direction it could so easily have flopped. But as it is, every time I think Guest Character X is the most brilliant, Guest Character Y comes on stage and suddenly I AM THROWN IN TO UNCERTAINTY OVER THIS MATTER. For they are all so much ♥ I think it's the only time in an audio where I've truly been just as captivated by the guest characters as by the TARDIS team!

You are so, so, so, so right. I've been thinking back to all the audios and the number of them with guest stars I really connected to and cared about is miniscule. I could probably count them on the fingers of one hand. But THIS audio, absolutely number one. Ugh, you are totally making me want to listen to it again for the 800th time tonight. Evil!

Oh, I did so enjoy Year of the Pig. It was so random but more in a "brilliantly unexpected" manner than a "wtf was that?" manner :) If Peri and Albertine could be Time-Traveling Adventurers, that would be cool.

Exactly. It's completely ludicrous ("That wasn't a pocketwatch! It was a PARACHUTE!"), but cracktastic to the point of being sublime. And, oh, yes, if Big Finish gave Albertine her own series, PARTICULARLY if she got to take Peri with her, I'd be lining up to buy it!

(But, then, I'd also probably be alone. Which is why she doesn't have one.)

Yep! I'm giving my talk from 3:15-4:00 on Thursday so I won't even have to worry about presenting or anything ;)
