I Shall Not Spoil You. Also, it is somewhat Hard to Explain. Enough to reduce me to random capitalization, apparently.
It's… well, for one thing, the violence in the Six stories has always kind of…not rubbed me the wrong way, exactly, because I'm not (for the most part) against their use of it, but it bothers me more than in most other Doctor Who or in most other TV. Despite that I'll write it, read it, and watch it, I'm really not a big fan of violence. Particularly certain kinds of psychological torture.
Obviously violence in a realistic piece is more worser than violence in a fantasy setting like Who, but, well, I'm a wuss, take it as you like. People go on about how much worse (on the whole) the C. Baker stories and sets and costumes and acting and whole entire package was than other eras. Overwhelmingly, they're right. But for some reason, maybe because it's so unslick, or maybe the way Baker does Six or the way Peri never trusts him entirely-morally, yes, but practically no-well, the nasty bits of the Six stories can

The Reaping, which, actually, doesn't sound like it's going to be very chipper. Clearly, I must console myself for fuckedup!Six by reading Two/Jamie pr0n instead.
Have listened to this one, now. Would you like the review spoiler-free and of virgin purity, or faintly spoilery but aimed not to diminish entertainment value?
Maybe not a bad decision. A lot of the story is just an extension/amplification of all the other times Peri's said "I really don't want to do this" and the Doc's ignored her. But the mind games and the companion torture onna rock really nauseate me.
On the plus side, I'm realizing this time through that I don't dislike Mel, I just hated the more irritating schticks they saddled her with. And, hey, look! The Doctor learning!
