It's written in the first person perspective so we can see how much Bella loves the vampire, and how love conquers all, and depite their differences, love will keep them together. Because love is all powerful.

Well, just because something moves someone, doesn't mean it will move everyone, I can stomach sparkly gay tennis musicals but not angsty teen emo prose. Not to mention a really disturbing stalker dynamic and teen marriage ...
