Occam has a photo in his journal of a snapping turtle laying eggs. He was out geocaching when he came across it in the woods. His photo reminded me of the time Holly and I came across an absolutely HUGE, very angry, snapping turtle in the Adirondacks ( Read more... )

Yes, it was a really bizarre coincidence. Out of all the towns we could have visited in the Adirondacks, and all the back roads we could have explored, we end up in front of my boss's summer cabin. Sometimes I am amazed by how enormous the world is...and other times by just how small.

Great story, the synchronicity caused me to laugh... this past weekend, there was a huge snapping turtle crossing the street in my neighborhood. I assume she was laying eggs. I didn't want her to get hit, so I stopped and tried to move her. She was very aggressive. Not wanting to lose a finger trying to catch her, I was able to get her to latch onto a green tree branch. A landscaper helped me move her to the creek. She went about 30-35 lbs. Where I'm from, that's called dinner for 8.
