Sadly, yes. While lots of fun its definitely not safe to play with any bird feces anymore. Its probably best to find another Genus entirely.* The Smithsonian suggests staying away from dog, cat, sheep, pig, cattle, and horse feces also. And of course steer clear of monkeys. And clowns. And mimes.

* I myself have chosen elephant feces. They're great for sculpture [holding their shape well] and are great for flinging at people.
