Thanks for the good wishes for my friend. We are still waiting to hear how the surgery went. In the meantime, I want to play make believe

Remember that one time we were on the Island, and it was really hot, and we talked Daniel into constructing a device to efficiently crack open coconuts for us? It was fun, but I got a bit of a sunburn. Good times, man.
Oh, geez, that day it was so freaking hot - remember? It was March, March, dammit, and of course we weren't dressed for summer weather, but that didn't stop the temperature from getting up in the 90's! What I've lost track of now is why we didn't just go to my place (or yours) and change into shorts, I just know we drank way too much beer trying to cool off. And then when we saw that fountain, neither one of us hesitated, and the water felt great! Just about everyone who walked by joined us. I can still see that poor cop, trying to make us all get out when what he wanted to do was hop in the water himself. Hee!
Of course I remember, after all we were the first scientists to identify global warming. Well, I mean I did. You kind of just rode my coat tails all the way to the Nobel prize. But then again, you did solve world peace all on your own, I have to give you that.
Hey, remember that time when I came to Toronto and we got together? I had to practically force you to go to a baseball game, but once you got a couple of drinks under your belt (the beer guy was addressing you by name by the end) you were yelling a the players louder then some of the guys around us. Damn, I wish my camera had the video option back then. ;)
But I was not as loud that day as you were when we were on our road trip and we stopped at that roadhouse. You were whooping it up on the dance floor and then you rode the mechanical bull! The best part was that cute cowboy who looked like Naveen who kept hitting on you. Too bad you lost his number!
I'm so sorry I missed your post about your friend, I haven't really been feeling up to lj lately. I swear the internet has burned me out.
Now for the memory...
Remember the time you got drunk in Vegas and danced on one of the tables at the Flamingo and it took me, the pit boss and several college boys with backward baseball hats and flip flops to get you down from there--I think it was when they were waving the dollar bills..all you kept saying was something about how you didn't have to eat at the buffet. :)
You mean like the time we were in Austria and found those stairs from that one part of the Sound of Music, and started singing the do-re-mi song, and then instead of having it be really embarrassing, everyone around us joined in?
