Icon journal, lj styles and lj changes

As a part of me iconing again, I have set up an icon journal for myself to seperate the private stuff and the icon stuff and to give the option to people to see the art only if they choose to. I’ve made a really cool CSS stylesheet for it that I’m quite proud of using Flexible Squares and then all the lj changes the friends page look crap happened ( Read more... )

I used s2flexisquares to learn about hacking that particular style. The other S2 style communities don't seem to have such comprehensive guides or communities for help.

I'm really irked by LJ and their desire to turn this place into Tumblr. I don't really see the point of doing any more customisation on LJ since I'll never actually see it myself with this shitty new friends page.

I think if I had an art journal to migrate, I'd:

- post all past tutorials and resource downloads
- post a selection of my favourite art and icons.

New layout is very clean and simple. I like it, though I think I like the slightly darker grey background you have here.

I will check that out..I've been combining several styles.

And me too..which is why I want to shape a similar space in tumblr.

And I've made the background grey. thank you!

So let me get that right: you actually made a flexible squares for dreamwidth? *is all excited* I will totally migrate my own style from lj to dw, if I can. (I do have all the sources still, even of the base layout. Lets hope this works.)

the community anjak pointed out is really wonderful. It was better a few years ago, but I've used it on several occasions (every time I needed to change anything *soughs*), and they've always been really helpful.

No I didn't make it. There is a tutorial on dreamwidth here: http://starlit.dreamwidth.org/272.html

That tells you how to implement it.

And the thing for me is that I want to do something from scratch and am failing a lot.
