Christmas Blues, all work and no play

Sometimes you haven't posted in so long, you don't even know what to post about anymore. Or where to fucking start. I've been swamped at work and it's been a bit hard and I've been stressed. We are redesigning the company website and have to have it done by the end of the first week of january and I hope that we make it in time. That said, ( Read more... )

I actually think the water being tinted makes the snowglobes look nicer. It sort of adds a little of the haze you get in the cold, where the visibility isn't as great as on a clear day. While I know how to make them, I've never really thought of trying to make one myself. Might have to give it a go now.

To be honest, even though I did offer cards, I've not really felt the holiday bug this year, for a lot of reasons. I'm really just not in the mood for it all.

The water has darkened considerably since this weekend. It's a really dark green now.

And I'm still not sure if I made it right. I thik I need to try a few differnt things and get different glitter that floats better.

And I know exactly what you mean.... :D

=( Though I always think things like that happening add to the learning curve. Maybe it would be possible to empty the globe and soak the trees until the colour doesn't run so much..? As for the glitter, I have tried using glitter and water before, for a centrepiece. The fine stuff doesn't work very well, though getting glitter with larger grains can be difficult. (Maybe small sequins would work.)

A few people I know really aren't feeling the holiday spirit this year - to be honest, it's nice to know I'm not on my own.

I agree with everyone about liking the water colour, it looks pretty.

As for the glitter, if you didn’t, make sure to add some glycerine in the future, as it’ll help the glitter float around more. :)

I took cleaning soap instead of glycerin. Its possible that is why it's not floating.

I think I love them too. But I really want to figure out how to make the glitter float more. Maybwe it was the wrong glitter. And the water has darkened quite a bit since I took the pics ;)
