I've seen a dog wearing these. We were on a group motorcycle ride, and one couple always brings their little dog stuffed into the woman's jacket (they ride two up with the woman on the back). It always seems very unfair to me. I mean, that dog's dead in an accident - googles are NOT enough protection for an accident. It just seems horrible to me that someone would take their dog on a motorcycle :(

yes, it seems unwise to have pets riding on motorcycles. this picture is so cute though, i almost couldn't stand it. :)

Oh sure. I have no problems with fun photo ops. I just get so mad at the way some people treat their pets! The same thing with not putting your cat in a carrier when you put it in the car. It is incredibly dangerous (ever have a cat crawl underneath the brake pedal while you're driving? or what happens if you're in an accident - that cat will run and run after the car is totaled, and you'll never find it again!).

End rant.

CUTE PUPPY THOUGH!!!!!!

yes, when my kids ride in the car, they ride in carriers. i think it makes them FEEL safer, too.

I am pretty sure that "mandalas" was the keyword that brought me to you. Then I discovered that you seem like a really stellar lady.

Anyone who describes themselves as a sexy booknerd and geeky wordslut is automatically overflowing with amazing-ness as far as I'm concerned.

I suppose that Michigan would be as cold as hell if hell were frozen over like nine times and then gave itself brainfreeze from being too eager about a slushie. You know how hell is about slushies.

What is Oregon like this time of year? I journeyed to Oregon for a visit many years ago and my heart has longed for the place ever since.

well, in my opinion, oregon is always beautiful. currently it's frigid, as we are in the same arctic blast as everyone else is getting, although mercifully so far we are sans precipitation. i like enjoying snow in a fun, playful context, not in a commuting to work context, for sure.

and yes to mandalas! i love them. i have one tattooed on my back, as a matter of fact. :)

Hi! I'm friending you because any friend of rinalia's is a friend of mine, especially if they list animal rights in their profile.

Hi and welcome! Yes, I am definitely into animal rights, although I wouldn't qualify myself as an activist in the ways that Rinalia is. I am a sometimes (as they need help) volunteer at the Animal Legal Defense Fund, HQ'd here in Portland, OR, where I live. Rewarding and challenging work.

Pretty much nobody is as awesome an activist as Rinalia is, so that's OK: it's not a reasonable standard to hold yourself to! Plus, she gets paid for it ... which I know she's only been able to achieve because of her very extreme awesomeness, but it's one reason why us mere mortals shouldn't worry about totally living up to her standard.

I help to look after a few rescued animals (12 cows, 3 guinea pigs and a goose -- not in Rinalia's league) and various little bits of activism with animal rights groups in Australia.
