Missed opportunities

In this quick update I note that the Fandom Steel Cage Match March Madness has been won by Joan Watson. That's something for such a new fandom. I'm happy with the fandom once again pushing female characters to the top. Sometimes it feel nice to be reminded it's not all about the hate.

Yep. Now that they've voted for their AWESOME LADIES the boyslashers can go back to producing boyslash 24/7. ( a check of the Holmes newsletter shows that there has been ZERO UPSURGE in Joan Watson fic or ions)

This took me by surprise since I don't really feel fannish about Elementary (I watch it and think it's OK and Joan is a high point of it but I don't really care if I miss an episode) and I also have no idea about who and what about is popular in the fandom. Especially, since the fandom is connected to the general Sherlock Holmes fandom and that suffers from what all the "2 guys solving crimes/saving people" disease - rabid shipping of those guys and all the female character hate that comes with it. I just stay away from all the fandoms for of these kind of shows even if I do watch the shows. Not that other type of show doesn't suffer from "just us dicks" syndrome but these are the worst.
