Who designs those things? It's like they take the drainer measurements and decide a half-inch on each side of the legs is more than anyone would need - nevermind that any glasses hanging off the edges are now dripping directly on the counter. And they aren't slope-y enough to drain, and they are warped in a week. *shakes fist in rage* There really OUGHT to be an off-the-shelf solution.
Good-looking drain pan! I just tend to "blaf" put everything on the counter - one of the reasons we stares at the kitchen sales girl in horror when she suggested wood. :p
Haha! Isn't it fabulous? I'm still utterly in love with mine. I can send you my crappy drawing, if you'd like. Just take it to a sheet metal shop and they should be able to bend it into shape for you. It won't be cheap - mine was $150, and is solid stainless steel. It would probably cost at least $100 to ship it from here, so look local.

And I love that custom drainpan. I have exactly the same complaints about plastic drainboards.
