Thanks, KD, for posting the hard data about Delia's & my gig this summer at Hollins.

I just found out who the Writer in Residence will be:  David Almond.

I think I may faint.

You've read SKELLIG, right??

Plus:

Hollins has also launched a Children’s Book Illustration Certificate program!  Talks by their artists and lecturers are also open to all ( Read more... )

Hope you don't mind me popping in to add that, as a graduate of the program, it is awesome. If you're reading Ellen's post & thinking of getting an MA/MFA, Hollins is definitely one of the most welcoming places you can go and, as stated, super genre-friendly. I worked on fantasy pieces the entire time I was there and was never pressured to do anything but improve my skills.

So glad you and Delia be back at Hollins this summer! I hope to make it up from Christiansburg a few times during the semester to see everyone!

Heh. Say hullo to David for me when the occasion arises; he's my mate (and this year's official Chaz-substitute at a ghost story event in Newcastle: "Chaz is in America, oh noes! Who else can we get? I suppose there's always that Almond fellow...").
