And here are my notes from our all-day recording session at DuArt on W. 55th Street!

EK:  Not really - it's just a Butler Line.
Nick Sullivan (Lord Ferris):  I've got an eyepatch, just remember that.

And now I need to go watch My Favorite Year again. Thank you, sister-auntie.

(I didn't look it up; I was working from memory. So if I'm wrong, well... has anyone ever actually died from too much Peter O'Toole? Other than Peter O'Toole, obvs.)

Ah! Clearly, I was thinking of Richard Harris. Which is silly, I know the difference (for one, my Auntie Lilly dated Richard Harris' father at one point). And she went to Obi-wan Kenobi's church in the UK. Cos, you know, Irish catholics, thin on the ground there.

In other news, guess what my new desktop wallpaper is?

10 points to YOU, Tara!

And Peter O'Toole is not dead. Joe's been in touch with him in Ireland!

"I had ONE line! (beat) I FORGOT IT!"

O'Toole is magnificent in this one. Magnificent-er. Something.

In real life, Peter O'Toole = a movie star and an actor. All of that sounds so exciting.

If the audiobook is even half as good as the Swordspoint one it will be wonderful. What a lot of things to look forward to in June: the TPOTS audiobook, my son's wedding ...

I'm looking forward to hearing a Devon accent in Riverside! I just hope it's a good Devon accent :>)

Actually, I hope it's not *too* good a one . . . We just wanted something with a different flavour, so we could distinguish the characters from others Katy's playing in this book (4 altogether: Teresa Grey, Artemisia Perry & Flavia (the Ugly Girl)). We considered a French accent - but there aren't any French people in Riverside - indeed, given some of the names & diction, one could say that everyone is French! Sorta.

But we decided that, even in a country that small, there would be regional accents from the provinces. So we all threw in some totally unplaceable British Isles things from time to time when we needed to establish new minor characters. Hope this doesn't drive a true Devonian to distraction.
