Hey, it really worked: Yesterday when I wrote this, WELCOME TO BORDERTOWN's Amazon ranking was, like, #730,000, and just now it's #35,600! This stuff goes up and down like a yo yo on a string - but clearly several people just took my advice. Smart folks.

It is MAGICAL and EXCITING. I still have a screencap I made to commemorate the exact moment when Chicks Dig Time Lords was the #1 ranked Doctor Who category book. Possibly I sent it to my co-editor's husband, so we could make squeaky noises about it outranking RTD's A Writer's tale (even if it didn't stay #1 for more than half a day).

I am crazy excited. I meant to come back and write that I had taken your advice the other day. It's real! And it will arrive at my desk in May! And I will read it. And then I will read it again.

*happy sigh*

I like the honesty of the (me! me! me!) - it's so very human. And it doesn't mean you think you're all that (well, maybe you do, and you wouldn't be far off!), just means you're doing appropriate social animal checking-in stuff. And *thank you* for the links and tips! :D

"(me! me! me!)" is meant more to replicate the way I still jump up & down at any mention of my work anywhere by anyone . . . . what can I say? I'm aged but immature - like bad cheese. ;)

I don't know that it is "immaturity" - my sense of it is that anyone who doesn't have a little thrill of "wow, they mentioned me/my work" is a little jaded or cynical or both. So what I see is the honesty of sharing your reaction. You're a good cheese! ;D
