Opera

I love opera. Of course, since I sing it and spent many years and lots of tuition money learning how to do so, I'd be rather masochistic if I didn't. A playwright whose name I now don't recall off the cuff once said that he would finally admit the superiority of theatre over opera as an art form on the day that he could have four characters on stage all talking at the same time and making themselves perfectly understood - and yes, there IS an aria that matches that description ("Bella figlia dell'amore" - I won't clutter your comments with embeds, but you can listen here).

Oh yes - I love that Rigoletto quartet! Mozart was also very good at ensembles for several singers all with their own texts. I love the sextet from Lucia di Lammermoor too. People who don't think they would like opera don't realize how much they're missing.

You have such a beautiful voice--I used to long to be able to sing and not cause people to run for the barf pail!
