Glad you've been cleared for real shoes again!

If you're coming to Reno from south Florida, you'll be one of the few people relieved at the Nevada heat - the humidity makes a huge difference. When I went to Iguanacon in Phoenix from Miami Beach, everyone was dropping like flies and I was walking around in 102F saying "This is great, I'm not sweating!"

Thank you--I'm about to try on some platforms to see how they feel (I can get used to them in Florida as we'll mostly be driving around).

I know I know--dry heat (although it cracks my skin) sure feels cooler than humid heat.

I was once in Death Valley (not summer) and it was reallly really hot. But pleasant in an odd way :-)

I was surprised by LJ being considered the premiere blogging service for Russian dissidents. I've always liked LJ precisely because it's not cool.
