I'm in NY now (this is Carolyn who wrote La Llorona) but I was just in Kansas City and loved it!! And I love me some slots and barbacue and vampires. =)
Thanks Charles. If I've anything interesting to post I will over the next few days. A LOT of people will be gone next weekend--there are at least two other conventions I know of: Wiscon and Balticon.
When I visited Pat Cadigan in Overlook Park many years ago in the dead of summer--we were going to visit William Burroughs in Lawrence but Pat's car didn't have air-conditioning, it was unbearably hot and humid, and I hadn't gotten back a confirmation that I could visit. (this was before email and I wrote him a letter). When I got home, a note had come to say drop on by (to paraphrase).
I was actually in touch with James Grauenholz, who lived with him at the time, and not directly with Burroughs. I'd bought an original story by Burroughs for OMNI --and that all went through James.

LOL. Last time a long time ago, I was also taken shooting and antiquing. But I don't think there's enough time for EVERYTHING...we'll see :-)
