How do you feel about musicals? Silent films? I love 'em, so I can give you some great titles from those genres.
As for tunes, I just discovered Vashti Bunyan (I'm a little late, I know). Also, Múm, Beirut, CocoRosie, Mirah, José Gonzalez, Fleet Foxes, and Born Ruffians have all been playing on my iTunes a lot lately.
And books...page turners...I couldn't put down Into Thin Air; The Time Traveler's Wife; The Memory Keeper's Daughter. Oh, and I could read Fathers and Sons over and over (it's a shorter classic Russian novel).
i recently started listening to beruit, justin timberlake, Cab Calloway, jose gonzales, the owls, dj raskal, wilco (yankee hotel foxtrot specifically), Jerry Lee Lewis, Ciara, Cat Power, and Andrew Bird alot recently.
