I have! A few, actually. One I ultimately did put down, because the alternative was actually throwing it over the fence into my neighbor's yard.

Anna Karenina. It's painfully slow at times, and the titular character doesn't even make an appearance until chapter 19! Before that time, it mostly focuses on an obnoxious asshole who cheated on his wife.
