Thanks for another review! On America and Europe: Yes. Yes, he did forget (as, in my experience, many Americans have xD. Our image of Europeans tends to be of pacifist wine-snobs, I think.)

America *is* in for a nasty surprise one day, but I wonder if it'll be Europe that surprises him...

I'm glad you liked! It's much, much, much easier to motivate myself to write when I'm writing *for* someone-- thus the kink meme xD-- so if you hadn't, I probably wouldn't have finished them. (That happened to me with that Opium Wars femslash fill, and the PruCan battlefield fill... people stopped loving on me, so I stopped wanting to write them.) I look forward to your punk!nations, whenever you get around to them <3.

Re: That's why I continue to use this icon~ ellamequiere September 19 2010, 00:57:49 UTC
I understand the "ashamed to be associated with idiots" business-- I love my country, I really do, but we sure have our moments ><.

Oh man, maybe I should try getting an ff account... I can see that being really reassuring. I'm on a lot of levels kind of making this whole thing up as I go along; like, I'd never written a fanfic in my entire life before this summer, and this whole journal thing just kind of grew out of writing for the kink meme. Oh! Which reminds me. What's up with icons? Like-- if you were to, say, want an icon that's not a jellyfish-- not that I don't love my jellyfish!-- do you have to, make one? Because I'm not particularly inclined in an artistic direction...

Yeah, packing sucks-- I sympathize. And I'm excited to see whatever you come up with!

Ohhh, this looks awesome...like the reviewer above me, the things I love most so far are America's thoughts on us EuropeansXD, and the unexpected nations who turn up there. But the most amusing thing is America being surprised that England is there shooting a gun. Did he forget where James Bond is from? (coincidentally, here in Europe, the English have a reputation for being violent and seeing one with a gun would be the least unexpected among usXD).

Our image of Europeans tends to be of pacifist wine-snobs, I think.

Pfff, this only proves to me that Americans think France=Europe (except those that don't know France is a countryXD). But even then, I think Americans would be surprised...France has the third largest nuclear arsenal in the world!
somebody already gave Al a nasty surprise: China XD

I think Al thinks that James Bond is an American with a funny accent xD. (That's hilarious! Here, English people have a reputation for being total pansies who drink tea all the time.)

To be fair, I think most Americans know that France is a country... if only because they opposed us about that whole Iraq thing and it pissed a lot of people off (my parents bought nothing but French wine for months to offset all the boycotts-- nice political action there, guys). But yes, the France/Italy=Europe preconception is big.

Yeah, China was EXACTLY where I was going with that. Which surprise in particular were you thinking of?

Anyway, I'm glad you liked!

ProbablyXD (LOL, but they had the biggest empire in world history. I don't suppose Americans believe they won it playing poker?XD
Anyway, England has a reputation for being violent here because of history, and because most Europeans think the British are more war-oriented and still like to fight old style. Also, when they go abroad they behave in the most shamefully destructive and annoyingly obnoxious wayXD)

Hahaha, well, it just seems like there are a lot of vids on Youtube about Americans being asked about France, and many of them couldn't place it, while others didn't even know it was a countryXD

But yes, the France/Italy=Europe preconception is big.
I feel cheated, being SpanishXD. Also, I bet a lot of people don't know UK is part of EU xDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Which surprise in particular were you thinking of?

"Hi, aru! Guess what? I just became the second most powerful economy two weeks ago, surpassing Japan, aru! Isn't that great, America? ^^"

Well, no, but I think we mostly forget about the British Empire. He's so small now, you know?

I don't doubt that there are people in America who don't know that France is a country, but I think they're probably in the minority; videos like that tend to find the most extreme people, because they're the funniest xD.

That's definitely true about the UK and the EU! I don't think we're really convinced they're Europeans...

America: Chokes. "Aren't you... aren't you a communist? Your guys' economies suck!"
