OK, I'll reveal a little bit more:

None of Peter's children ever went to visit Stephen and the rest of the Bladesedge clan. There's a major clue why in the second paragraph of the tale... but I'll admit it's subtle:

[Major plot point for future tales hidden under this spoiler link.]The paragraph refers to the Bladesedge clan in the past tense. Within a decade or so of the events listed in this tale, the Bladesedge clan gets completely wiped out... except for Peter and his children. So even if any of Peter's kids had an interest in joining the clan, there was no one for them to meet!

As for the circumstances of Peter's death... I may cover that in detail in a future tale, but I have made a vague passing reference to it in one of my tales in an earlier season of LJI.

I deliberately made the clue very subtle, but since you asked...

Peter was no coward... and he actually was a pretty good farmer.

He sure was not one, to stand up to such a long family history and and a domineering father who was also the Elder of the clan!

As you say. Indeed, the more I think about Peter, the more I like and respect him. Which only makes his fate all the more tragic...

I enjoyed the story.

The family name was very obvious though. Did they choose it for themselves at one point? :)

The name was chosen by the clan founder. It sybolizes both his warrior nature and the "straight and narrow" code of righteousness he followed.

OK, I came up with the name back when I was a teenager... But let's face it: not only is the name awesomely cool, it just plain *FITS*!

So we can say that the clan founder also chose it as a young men, and it fit so well that it remained his name and that of his descendants :)

Technically, you already know more... ellakite May 1 2014, 05:23:06 UTC
... if you've been following my previous tales from my "saga" that I've written for LJI. This story predates most of the ones I've already written.

Reading them and remembering details are two completely different things, LOL. :)

I hope to follow up on this one soon... but I'll need a prompt that fits, first.
