Poll won't start until after 8 PM Eastern. I can't create the link until then... but I appreciate your eagerness.

Interesting. Very realistic, too. Now I want to go back to acting again! This made me remember how much I enjoyed it. <3

Very realistic

There's a reason for that...

OK, I'll admit I exaggerated a few items for dramatic effect... but not by much. My mother defined the word "killjoy"...

There's a reason for that...
- Sure. Good storytelling, I'd guess.

Sometimes I am that mother.
Sometimes I notice it and feel horrible about myself. Sometimes I remember in time to shut my trap if I'm about to get too negative, or realistic, as some people prefer to call it.

It's getting better since a while, thankfully.

There's "being realistic"... and then there's "being a killjoy". I swear, my mother's viewpoint was so negative that she must have completely embraced Saint Augustine's view that this world is just a "vale of tears". Seriously: I cannot recall a single instance where Mom complemented any of her children...

Very nice. I especially enjoyed your relatives' reactions at the end of each 'scene'.

Thanks. ellakite April 7 2014, 23:48:15 UTC
I wanted to get something up, as I was about to start my commute home. Even if I had gotten stuck on the train and couldn't edit it, I'd rather have a post up with a few typos than be forced to take a "bye" this week...

Thanks again.

Haha, having done theater in my high school years, I found this to be very amusing. Nicely written.

I did theater a few times in college, and got very good reviews on each outing.

Thanks for the compliment!

There should not be a "k" in the expression "facial tic".

Otherwise, well done, cher cousin.

[I wouldn't be a good editrix if I let that go uncommented-upon.]

Ghod-Dam-It -- I'm *SURE* I spelled it right. The so-called "autocorrect" feature on my word processor must have changed it...

I took the "k" out. Please don't tell anyone... and thanks.

PS: I originally considered writing a piece based on how Ansbro treated me in his class... but I think this approach referenced the quote better.

I was wondering whether that had crossed your mind.
