Sometimes I am that mother. Sometimes I notice it and feel horrible about myself. Sometimes I remember in time to shut my trap if I'm about to get too negative, or realistic, as some people prefer to call it.
There's "being realistic"... and then there's "being a killjoy". I swear, my mother's viewpoint was so negative that she must have completely embraced Saint Augustine's view that this world is just a "vale of tears". Seriously: I cannot recall a single instance where Mom complemented any of her children...
I wanted to get something up, as I was about to start my commute home. Even if I had gotten stuck on the train and couldn't edit it, I'd rather have a post up with a few typos than be forced to take a "bye" this week...
