I understand why you love that particular line -- everything prior to that point is pure setup. That line (and the aunts' response) is the point when the comedy *REALLY* starts.
But I think you can understand why I focused on the "reunion" scene -- if I couldn't stand up to Mortimer, it would severely weaken the impact of the rest of the play. It still amazes me a bit that I did so well...

As for acting... well, I certainly didn't expect to do so well portraying a sadist like Jonathan.

While that's a Mortimer line, and one uttered before the brotherly reunion you described, that's the one that sticks in my head from the movie.
When I am remembering the play, although I've seen other performances, I always remember yours.
