First bit of news: I have not been abducted by aliens, sold as indentured servant, sucked into a story book or any other really big events that would give me an excellent excuse for my recent prolonged absence. What has happened is a recent spurt of being very busy, STILL searching for another job, and last but not all least no electricity.

Yes, I ( Read more... )

Cheers! *drinks down and smacks lips* Ah..'ats marvelous. ;)

Ooh! A revolt! *begins to paint signs and rile up neighbors* That would be awesome! As long as no one really got hurt. I hate senseless violence. Although, this wouldn't quite be senseless...

A gas campstove... rubyann82 October 10 2007, 16:07:53 UTC
really should be used outside. You could cook all sorts of yummy stuff with one though and they arn't that expencive (at least compared to a generator and the electrician to install it propperly). I can sympathise about being without power a bit, but never for that long.
We loose electricity three to five times a year for varing lengths of time, but never more than three days! Yikes! We have to have a generator, because our water pump for the well is electric and no electric = no water and alternate heating (wood stove in kitchen that we can cook with)
Good luck!

Yup, both Madeline and I have just about had it with how long this is taking. *sigh*

Wow, thank goodness you have a generator! Cool that you have a wood stove too. I haven't ever used one, but once a cabin we stayed in on the coast had one, and I had great fun pulling the tops off to look at the fire inside, much to the annoyance of my grandparents. ;)

Good to know about the gas campstove, I'll remember that. Should we employ the use of one, I'll make sure we do it outside! No explosions please! :D

If Madeline and I were more equipped for living without power, this would be a little more fun for me. I could even pull out my ever full imagination and pretend that we were two single woman out in the old west homesteading on the frontier. But we lack the equipment and so are just to modern chicks in a cold house without lights, food, computers, oven, fridge etc.

Ha ha ha!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*grins* Glad it made you laugh. I've gotten some chuckles out of it myself! Really, if we had the proper stuff to rough it out, I wouldn't mind so much. But I can't even vacuum the blessed floor. It's getting very....un-clean.;) But at least we can't see how dirty the house has gotten in the dark! *laughs*

Thank you! It was a wonderful birthday!
