I sadly missed some bits of the show, as husband was flickering back and forth at first (missed the orcas, boo!) but I love love love the prairies segment. it was great. and KD lang was as glorious as usual singing Hallelujah.
I wished I had a bit more about where I lived, though. Seriously, I kept thinking that we'd see something, but apart from the chasse gallerie canoe, it was pretty slim. I didn't feel included much. oh well. there was Garou, the song was fitting at least.
I noticed that Quebec kind of got snubbed, and so did Ontario. I mean, there were the voyageurs and the fiddling has some french culture as well, but they were kind of lumped in with the Atlantic provinces.
Garou was wonderful.
There's a festival going on right now in Winnipeg called "Festival du Voyageur", and it's a huge french festival. I'm going this week and am going to practice my french! (well, at least after a few drinks. I'm WAY too self conscious about it otherwise!)
