Epilogue

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, the class of 2012!" Principal Figgins held his hands out as the students marched into the gymnasium in their ruby colored robes. Quinn and Rachel came running in a little late as they had been up to something under the bleachers that they shouldn't have been doing. They hurried to their spots; Mr. Schuester cleared his throat in displeasure, causing Rachel's face to match her robes, and Quinn proud smile to spread even further across her face.

"Rachel Barbra Berry," Figgins said as Rachel went up to receive her diploma, causing Quinn to jump up from her seat to cheer and whistle. The blush returned to Rachel's face as she took the certificate and shook her principals hand.

"Michael Jin-Sun Chang!" Rachel returned to her seat next to Quinn who pulled her into a hug and whispered into her ear, "We made it."

Rachel smiled and turned to her. "No, I made it. You haven't gotten yours yet. There's still time for you to get expelled or something like that." She stuck her tongue out and then couldn't help but giggle at the blonde's shocked face.

"Oh, Quinn, I'm kidding. I don't think they can expel you at graduation. Come here." And so the brunette pulled the blonde in for a quick kiss, wiping the sad look from her face.

"Quinn Charlotte Fabray!" Quinn kissed Rachel again and stood up. "Wish me luck," she said, before making her way to the stage.

"Yeah, don't trip or anything like that," Rachel replied, but Quinn was already halfway there by the time she did. As Quinn accepted her diploma and Rachel called and cheered, Rachel couldn't help by smile as she thought about all they'd gone through the past four years, hell, the past 18 years.

They never really did figure out how what had happened to them could be real, but both knew it had been. It was as if they were destined to grow up, even hundreds of miles apart, and then destined to find each other years later.

They'd both had their theories of course. Quinn thought they were each other's guardian angels, transcending distance and space to be together on the same plane of being when the other person needed them. Rachel thought there had been a rift between two parallel universes and that the Quinn she had known as a child had been one from a different reality very similar to her current Quinn's. The blonde did not particularly like that theory though because somehow it felt like cheating to her. They both just figured they would never know, but to be thankful for what they got.

After graduation, Mr. Schuester invited everyone back to his house as a way of saying goodbye and congratulations to the original Glee clubbers. The original twelve, though really they were the original 10, since Matt had transferred their Junior year and Brittany had already left for dance school in Columbus. Santana was meaner than ever without Brittany by her side, so everyone mostly avoided her the whole party.

"So Rachel, where'd you decide on?" Kurt asked as he eyed his punch suspiciously.

Rachel was preoccupied playing with Quinn's fingers that she didn't hear the questions. "I'm sorry, what'd you say Kurt?"

"College. Where are you going?" He seemed annoyed now.

Quinn answered for her. "We're both going to NYU. Rachel is off course going to pursue a degree in drama. No, not that kind of drama," she spat out as Puck looked like he was about to make a joke. "And I'm not sure what I want to study yet. Maybe I'll become a teacher. I don't know, I just want to be close to this one."

Quinn poked Rachel in the stomach, causing her to giggle and bury her head in Quinn's shoulder.

Kurt looked disgusted and turned his attention to Mercedes who was chatting with Tina and Mike, who were both headed for OSU. This left Rachel and Quinn alone with Puck who was eyeing them as if they were a tasty hamburger, something Rachel was highly opposed to, being a vegan and all.

"What Puck?" Rachel asked with fake concern.

Puck smiled that devilish smile he was known for and answered, "Well, you know we all just graduated and I've thought of the perfect graduation present you guys can get me."

Quinn cut him off, "No, we will not have a threesome with you."

Puck looked incredibly wounded, "Oh come on, that's like my biggest dream!" He continued to pout but Rachel and Quinn were a bit preoccupied staring into each other's eyes, silently telling each other exactly how they would actually be celebrating their graduation.

---

That night, after a passionate session of love making, Rachel awoke with a shudder. "Quinn, Quinn!" she yelled out, the nightmare still consuming her.

And this time she was there. The blonde turned over and pulled her girlfriend closer. "Shh, it's alright baby, I'm here. It was just a dream. Everything is going to be okay."

Rachel buried her head in the girls neck, breathing in her scent. She sniffled, "I had a dream, and you wanted Puck, and I tried to stop you from leaving, but I couldn't move, and..."

Quinn cut her off with a kiss. "Hey, sweetie, don't worry, I would never leave you for anyone, especially not Puck. That loser would probably give me and STD or something worse, like, I don't know, get me pregnant or something stupid like that."

The diva giggled and kissed her again.

"Besides, I love you and you're all I'll ever need."

She snuggled in closer, and Quinn tightened her embrace.

"So go back to sleep, and this time try to dream about me and..."

"Your abs!" Rachel interjected and Quinn shot her a quizzical look. "Um, yeah sure. My abs... Whatever works for you. I was gonna say, 'not in the form of a nightmare,' but that works too."

Rachel smiled into her neck and whispered, "I love you so much."

And she did.

It made sense.

The End- ish.
