Is Cassandra Clare the author who used to be very active in fandom? Her name sounds familiar.

I'm actually not sure. If she is she's likely got her own fandom now ;)

How the heck do you find that much reading time?

Time turner? ;)

Commuting via public transit is a big help for reading time for me in reality. It's not like I can be doing a lot of other things then.

Oh, good point. My commute takes about five minutes, with me driving. When I'm on longer trips, I often use the time to catch up on podcasts.

But mostly, nobody told me how much writing would eat into my reading time.

That's definitely a thing. Writing, or any kind of creative thing tends to fit into the same timing that reading can fit into. Alas. I just need more time... or more leisure time really ;)

wow ... that's a lot of books. I think I only averaged about one a month last year ... although, in my defense, I also wrote two last year.

If it helps any I'm reading way way way less this year. My brain just feels so unfocused.

Me too--for instance, I didn't realize I replied to this once before. but it doesn't help! I want everyone reading lots and lots of books ... hopefully mine first, of course. :-)

LOL if it helps I link these older posts every year just as they're a great way for me to keep track of books. I track on Goodreads too but I don't review there as much as I do here.
