I'm not saying the movie wasn't good, but I am saying that I would always choose the book and the right ending and the right main plots/differences, better than the movie version. I think the last movie that I saw which was based on a book, was Blood and Chocolate and I was seriously pissed off with that movie and how it turned out. It changed up the ending completely and there were key points and important things that they left out of the movie that was in the book. Books are always better than movies, but I found I could appreciate the changes made here and could see why they were made. I still like the ending of the book vs the movie ending but that for me didn't make the movie ending bad, just I like the other way best.
The book is quite good. I was slightly disappointed with it because it just felt like it was almost rushed over and could have been more detailed and descriptive. However it still was a great classical magical story :) Definitely worth reading :)
