I think (but don't quote me) that once you have hooked up the dvd player coorectly, you should be able to watch the movies with a player similar to PowerDVD.

If it were that easy I'd be a happy camper. Power DVD and such are intended for internal DVD players (of which I have it just freezes ... poor old computer) they will not register an external player because it's not a DVD drive. I need something that is intended to let you stream TV through it, usually programs for recording to your computer do this I just need on that lets me preview in full screen mode :)

I'm wondering what your TV connection is that you can't get the video... just how old is old? If you could describe it to me, I might be able to figure out what needs to be done.. I also have a couple of old connectors that might work if you need them...

Otherwise, you could try download.com and do a search for 'tv tuner' software.. there's a lot of freeware and shareware video capture programs, and I'm sure some or one of them will have a preview option that will let you watch...

but seriously... email me about your connection set up...

I'm going to do you one better and send a picture of the connections. It'll be there in a little bit I've just got to upload. Usually with hooking up tvs and such I'm generally pretty okay so this is frustrating me to no end!
