I take the cynical approach and think that she's doing some of that stuff for positive publicity to counteract the negative that's out there and lord knows she's generated herself some negative publicity.
But... but... Kristen Bell is the epitome of everything perfect! Her hair is always so nicely coifed, and she has the most sincere smile in the history of evar, and her teeth are so white and glossy, and she always steps out of the spotlight if someone else deserves attention, and she SAVES PUPPIES, OMG!
God, you know things are bad when they start to descend so far into wank like this. I've heard unfavourable things about KB, MM and RT and while it hasn't endeared them to me all, they certainly don't care what I think.
Exactly! I think it's just sort of become a scapegoat thing. Especially if all of the negative things are apparently coming from just "3 bitchy girls" online and Micheal Muhney then they wouldn't have affected the ratings and there would be almost no fallout. I don't think that the negative things about any of the cast members was really the reason the show fell apart this year ratings wise per say. Although I think some of the RT things for sure weren't helping as he's the one in charge of his show... but most of the casual viewers wouldn't be reading the LJ groups online, they lost interest all on their own.
*sigh* The day KB cares what I think of her will be a highly amusing day for me lol
Hey, apparently it's rant time for everyone! *wry smile*
Sorry you had to remove someone from your flist. It's pretty ridiculous when that rabid side of fandom rears its ugly head :o/
As for VM... I think I watched three eps of this season before I stopped, and everytime I read your comments about each subsequent episode, I was glad I had. Didn't have time for a show that wasn't keeping me entertained. Sad to see it decline so, but after season 1 it just didn't work for me. Oh well.
I haven't heard any rumours about any of them, except for the saving puppy thing now, and it's just making me kinda laugh. The militant stance people will take over actors and 'famous people' they don't even know... That whole 'star' phenomena is so weird.
Anyway, no real point here, except to say sorry you had to remove someone... but it's your LJ after all, you've got every right as to who does or doesnt' read your stuff, not to mention who's stuff you read, so... it's sucky, but good for you *nods*
VM had a great well thought out first season. A pretty good second season overall but a bomb of a third season and that's why it got cancelled. It had nothing to do with anyone on the internet. They couldn't keep viewers interested.
People will always defend actors and how wonderful they are if they admire them. I get that. I just think that if you're actually doing the research into a person to the degree these people claim they are then how are you missing the rest of the stories? Rose coloured glasses I suppose.
That's pretty much what I said. I had commented that of all the negative stuff online about KB I could only believe 50% of it and still have a negative opinion of her. I think it's just naive to believe that everything good you read about someone is completely true, no spin to it at all, and all of the negative has been created by jealous people. Now some of the negative is probably completely bogus but I'd be willing to bet that some positive was done for good publicity as well.

Or not. Truthfully, I just like a show or don't, and don't usually pay much attention to behind the scenes drama, so I'm hardly the authority.
