I just posted The Adventures of Lucy Skywalker to the au_bigbang comm. And AO3, obviously. It's six o'clock in the morning and I have yet to feel the need to sleep, but it's done!

You know, for now. Since it's the first story in a series I imagine will go on a bit. I've already thought of an AU omg what is my brain. And there is art and I'm done ( Read more... )

Heh, it's not really an issue that much of the time -- but since I'm in Austen fandom and ultra-nitpicky, I always have to be super careful about my usage. And with Middle-earth or HP, Americanisms just seem bizarre. But SW -- eh. LOL, I love the idea that it's all correct somewhere.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I will respond to your nice long comment over at AO3, but -- thanks! *glee*

You're welcome. :)

Honestly, it's just getting me nostalgic for the Original Trilogy. And the Prequels. And yet I'm afraid to rewatch them because I don't want to end up breaking into tears at the end of ROTJ -- not only because of Vader's death, but how they royally screwed Luke over in the EU. I know it's not canon, the EU, but it doesn't really make it hurt any less. Still...it wouldn't hurt to give them a rewatch. :)

It got me nostalgic too -- especially in the latter half, when I had to watch the original version of each scene a couple of times. Well, not towards the prequels, obviously, for me, but I did try to include a bit of PT-era stuff for a bit of nostalgic value. I'm kind of looking forward to going back to my recap things now that I don't have these massive projects on my plate.

Happily, I totally forget the EU when I watch the OT (or hell, even the prequels) because my brain can't process it as the same universe, let alone the same characters. The end of ROTJ does make me cry though. :(

I forgot to leave a comment at AO3 but wow I love this! I didn't mind the parts that were novelization, I just enjoyed seeing the differences and insights. I loved Lucy and the new dynamics that brought to the table. It was a shock seeing Lucy leave with Han and yet it sort of felt right. I don't know whether Lucy will return, Leia will fly and make the shot, or if Leia is now doomed but wow ( ... )

Thank you very much. I'm glad people seem to have enjoyed the parts where nothing changed -- there were plenty of things I didn't think would change, so I just had fun interpreting away.

Ooh, the end really was a surprise? Awesome! I hoped it would be.

I've always rather loved the idea of Anakin/Vader's potential interactions with a daughter too -- there are a few stories where he raises Leia, which is kind of awesome, but the Anakin-Luke relationship is the central one for me, so I'm really looking forward to dealing with both 'daughter' and 'Luke.' And I definitely plan on writing a sequel, though it might be a bit, and I've already planned it and its sequel out. :D

Thank you again!
