A/N:  This owes its inspiration to a certain conversation with Raksha the Demon and Nesta at Emyn Arnen.

Prologue

In these latter days, as in Númenor, the ladies of the Dúnedain clung to what remained of their years with a tenacity fully equal to that of their brothers and husbands, desperate to remain as long as they did.

Oh, very nice...poetic! (At first I thought it might be about Morwen Steelsheen, so I had to go back and re-read the first few sentences when I figured out that it wasn't!)

Since this is called "Prologue," does that mean there will be more? It could stand very nicely on its own, I think!

Thank you! It hadn't occurred to me it could be Morwen, actually, but I did want to keep her name out of it at first. Yes, there is more . . . the first fragment popped into my head, but I'd wanted to write about Lothíriel a long time, so I continued with this today.
